The TEAC PE-505 is a reference-grade phono preamplifier developed to extract every detail from vinyl recordings with exceptional accuracy and musicality. Designed around a dual-mono fully balanced architecture, it minimizes channel interference while preserving the delicate signal generated by phono cartridges.

Supporting both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges, the PE-505 includes a dedicated balanced XLR input for MC cartridges, enabling true balanced signal transmission from compatible turntables. Adjustable gain settings and selectable MM capacitance and MC impedance allow precise cartridge matching for optimum performance.

A newly developed NF-type equalization circuit delivers outstanding RIAA accuracy with less than ±0.05dB deviation across the audible frequency range. In addition to the standard RIAA curve, the PE-505 also supports DECCA and COLUMBIA equalization curves, making it ideal for playing vintage mono records produced before the RIAA standard was established.

Additional audiophile features include a cartridge demagnetization (DEMAG) function, mono playback mode, subsonic detection and filtering, and an MC impedance measurement function for simplified cartridge setup.

The analogue output stage provides both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, allowing seamless integration with high-end integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers and power amplifiers. Built with TEAC's precision engineering and premium components, the PE-505 offers remarkably low noise, excellent channel separation and faithful analogue reproduction for demanding vinyl enthusiasts.
