The Rega Aria MM & MC Phono Stage has been meticulously designed to maximise the performance of both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges without compromise. Unlike conventional phono preamplifiers that share circuitry between cartridge types, the Aria incorporates two completely independent analogue phono stages, each specifically optimised for its intended cartridge.

The Moving Magnet stage employs ultra-low-noise bipolar transistors configured for outstanding linearity and exceptionally accurate RIAA equalisation. The dedicated Moving Coil stage uses parallel-connected low-noise FET input devices with a self-adjusting servo circuit that continuously maintains optimum operating conditions while compensating for temperature variations.

For maximum cartridge compatibility, the MC section offers selectable gain along with adjustable resistive and capacitive loading, allowing precise optimisation for a wide range of low-output moving coil cartridges. Signal switching is handled via high-quality relays operating at low impedance, ensuring a clean and uncompromised signal path.

True to Rega's design philosophy, the Aria is a completely analogue design with no digital control circuitry, preserving signal purity and minimising unwanted interference.
