Cisco 60W 8 Port PoE 2x1G Smart Network Switch, CBS250-8P-E-2G

The Cisco Business CBS250-8P-E-2G is part of Cisco’s entry-level managed switch portfolio, built to bridge the gap between unmanaged switches and full enterprise switching platforms. It provides 8 × 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ ports, allowing direct power delivery to connected endpoints such as VoIP phones, wireless access points, and IP cameras, eliminating the need for separate power supplies.

With a 60W total PoE budget, it is optimized for light PoE deployments where only a few powered devices are required. The switch also includes 2 × Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo uplink ports, giving flexibility to connect to fiber backbones or upstream switches depending on deployment requirements.

The CBS250 series supports Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 Lite functionality, including VLAN segmentation, inter-VLAN routing (static routes), Link Aggregation (LACP), IGMP snooping, and Quality of Service (QoS). These features help improve traffic prioritization for voice and video while maintaining stable network segmentation.

On the security side, it includes 802.1X authentication, Access Control Lists (ACLs), DHCP snooping, and port security, helping protect against unauthorized network access and common Layer 2 attacks. Management can be done through a web-based GUI, CLI, or Cisco Business Dashboard.

Its fanless or low-noise compact design (model-dependent) makes it suitable for office desks, retail counters, and small IT closets. The switch is also rack-mountable, offering deployment flexibility for structured network environments.
