The TP-Link TL-SL1218MP is an unmanaged high-power PoE+ switch designed primarily for surveillance systems, small business networks, and IP camera deployments. It provides 16 × Fast Ethernet PoE+ ports capable of delivering both data and power over a single Ethernet cable, significantly simplifying installation and reducing cabling costs for CCTV and access point setups.

In addition, it includes 2 × Gigabit RJ45 ports and 2 × Gigabit combo SFP slots for high-speed uplink connectivity to NVRs, routers, or core switches. This ensures stable backbone performance even when multiple PoE devices are operating simultaneously.

The switch supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards with up to 30W per port and a total power budget of 250W, allowing it to support multiple IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP devices in medium-sized deployments. Intelligent power management helps prevent overload by prioritizing critical devices when power consumption is high.
