The Epson EcoTank L8050 is built for users who need professional-looking photo prints with much lower running costs than cartridge-based photo printers. It uses a 6-colour dye ink system (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, Light Magenta), giving smoother gradients, richer skin tones, and more accurate colour reproduction than standard 4-colour printers.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB, allowing wireless printing from laptops, smartphones, and tablets via Epson Smart Panel and Epson Photo+ software. Print resolution reaches 5760 × 1440 dpi for detailed photo output.

For speed, Epson rates it up to 22 ppm black / 22 ppm colour (draft), while ISO print speed is around 8 ipm black / 8 ipm colour. A 10 × 15 cm photo can print in roughly 25 seconds under Epson test conditions.
