The Parasound JC2 BP Halo is a reference-quality stereo preamplifier designed for listeners seeking an exceptionally clean and transparent analogue control centre. Designed by renowned audio engineer John Curl, it uses a dual-mono, all-analogue architecture with direct DC servo coupling and no capacitors in the signal path.

The JC2 BP provides six pairs of unbalanced RCA line-level inputs, with two input pairs switchable to balanced XLR operation. Its premium four-gang motor-driven analogue volume control provides precise stereo level adjustment, while separate TKD left and right gain controls allow additional channel balancing.

The preamplifier offers both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA main outputs, as well as an inverted RCA output and a fixed-level recording output. Parasound uses hand-matched complementary FETs, 24k gold-plated Vampire RCA connectors, Neutrik XLR connectors and extensive shielding around the audio circuitry to help minimise noise and interference.

A key feature is the assignable Home Theatre Bypass, which allows the JC2 BP to integrate seamlessly with a surround processor while maintaining dedicated two-channel performance. The unit also includes four 12V trigger outputs, IR repeater connections and two-way RS-232 control for custom installations.

With a frequency response extending from 5Hz to 100kHz, extremely low distortion and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 116dB, the Parasound JC2 BP Halo is a sophisticated choice for high-end analogue stereo systems and integrated home theatre installations.
