The Parasound HINT 6 Halo is a sophisticated integrated stereo amplifier designed to combine high-end amplification, digital conversion and versatile source connectivity in a single component. Its high-bias Class A/AB power amplifier section, designed around John Curl's amplifier topology, delivers 160W per channel into 8Ω and 240W per channel into 4Ω with both channels driven.

A substantial shielded toroidal transformer, dual-mono power supply and 40,000µF of filter capacitance provide the current reserves required for demanding loudspeakers. The amplifier uses matched JFET input stages, MOSFET driver stages and high-current bipolar output transistors for controlled, dynamic performance.

The HINT 6 incorporates an ESS Sabre32 Reference ES9018K2M DAC supporting PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz through asynchronous USB, along with native DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 playback. Optical and coaxial inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Vinyl playback is supported through dedicated MM and MC phono inputs, while a high-current Texas Instruments TPA6120 headphone amplifier provides a convenient solution for private listening. The amplifier also includes five RCA analogue inputs, a balanced XLR input, balanced and unbalanced preamp outputs, and multiple subwoofer outputs.

Analogue bass management provides high- and low-pass crossover control, while Home Theatre Bypass allows the HINT 6 to integrate into a surround-sound system. A 12V trigger, IR connections and a backlit remote further enhance system integration and convenience.

With its powerful Class A/AB amplification, premium ESS DAC, MM/MC phono stage, headphone amplifier and comprehensive connectivity, the Parasound HINT 6 Halo is an excellent all-in-one solution for demanding two-channel audiophile systems.
