The Parasound Halo A51 is a reference-quality 5-channel power amplifier engineered for demanding home-theatre and high-fidelity multi-channel systems. Its high-bias Class A/AB topology combines the smoothness of Class A operation at lower levels with the substantial power and efficiency of Class AB amplification.

The A51 delivers 250W per channel into 8Ω and 400W per channel into 4Ω, with all five channels driven continuously from 20Hz to 20kHz. Its 60A peak current capability per channel allows it to maintain excellent control over difficult loudspeaker loads and demanding musical or cinematic passages.

A massive 1.5kVA encapsulated toroidal transformer uses separate secondary windings for each channel, while 164,000µF of filter capacitance provides substantial energy storage. The amplifier uses JFET input circuitry, complementary MOSFET drivers and high-current bipolar output transistors for a robust and responsive output stage.

The A51 features both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, allowing flexible connection to premium AV processors and stereo preamplifiers. Gold-plated 5-way speaker binding posts provide secure and reliable speaker connections.

THX Ultra2 certification makes the A51 particularly suitable for high-end cinema applications, while its wide-bandwidth design also makes it appropriate for demanding music reproduction.

Automatic turn-on can be controlled through a 12V trigger or audio signal. DC servo and relay protection help safeguard the amplifier and connected speakers, while front-panel indicators provide convenient monitoring.

With five powerful channels, a large toroidal power supply, substantial filter capacitance and high-current output capability, the Parasound Halo A51 is an excellent solution for powering the front and surround channels of a premium home-theatre system.
