The Parasound Halo A23+ is a sophisticated 2-channel stereo power amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking a combination of power, precision and refined musical performance. Co-designed by legendary audio engineer John Curl, the A23+ employs a high-bias Class A/AB topology and a dual-mono power architecture to provide excellent channel separation and current delivery.

The amplifier delivers 160W per channel into 8Ω and 240W per channel into 4Ω with both channels driven across the full 20Hz–20kHz audio bandwidth. When configured in bridged mode, it can produce 500W into an 8Ω load, making it suitable for demanding speaker applications. Parasound specifies peak current capability of 45A per channel and stable operation with speaker impedance dips below 2Ω.

A substantial 1.1kVA shielded toroidal transformer uses independent windings for each channel, while separate power supplies for the input, driver and output stages help minimise interaction and noise. The output stages use JFET input circuitry, MOSFET drivers and twelve beta-matched high-current bipolar output transistors.

The A23+ provides both balanced XLR and gold-plated RCA inputs for flexible integration with a wide range of stereo preamplifiers and AV processors. Heavy-duty 24k gold-plated 5-way speaker binding posts provide secure speaker connections.

Automatic turn-on is available through either a 12V trigger or audio sensing, while DC servo and relay protection circuits help protect the amplifier and connected loudspeakers. Its 2U chassis includes rear carry handles, with optional rack-mount hardware available.

With its high-current Class A/AB design, excellent power reserves, sophisticated dual-mono architecture and flexible connectivity, the Parasound Halo A23+ is an excellent power amplifier for high-end two-channel listening and premium home-theatre installations.
