The Denon DCD-1700NE is designed for listeners seeking accurate, detailed and natural reproduction from physical music media. Its Advanced AL32 Processing Plus technology uses interpolation, upsampling and bit-extension techniques to process digital audio and reproduce music with high resolution and low distortion.

At its core is a TI PCM1795 32-bit/192kHz DAC circuit, combined with Denon's DAC Master Clock Design to help maintain precise digital timing. The player supports both conventional CDs and Super Audio CDs (SACD), including stereo and multi-channel SACD layers where applicable.

The Denon-developed S.V.H. (Suppress Vibration Hybrid) mechanism is designed to provide stable and precise disc reading. In addition to CD and SACD, the DCD-1700NE can play compatible CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs containing formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF and DSD.

For a clean listening path, Pure Direct Mode minimises unnecessary circuitry during playback. The player provides a gold-plated RCA analogue output alongside optical and coaxial digital outputs, allowing it to be integrated with a stereo amplifier, AV system or external DAC.

The Premium Silver version features an aluminium front panel and aluminium control buttons, complementing premium stereo components such as the Denon PMA-1700NE integrated amplifier.
